Smile Hi ! New puppy coming 10/31 :-)

Hello fellow lab owners! I just wanted to take a moment to introduce myself. We had to lay our chocolate to rest in July at the age of 14. He was a dream. We have a new puppy coming on Halloween. 14 years is a long time , I hope I remember all the work it takes to train a pup!

I have a similar story to you, we put our Sadie down this summer and will be welcoming a new baby on October 15th. Enjoy the new bundle of joy!

Hi and welcome! So sorry for your loss - I was in a very similar situation a bit more than 2 years ago, and that's basically the reason I'm here. 14 years is a long time and I needed some tips, advice, info about what I could, should or shouldn't do with a puppy. Good luck! M&M

Welcome to the board. I'm very sorry for your loss but your Chocolate Dream did a good job if now you must have a dog in your life. We found the same thing 8 years ago when Jet left us at age 14.5 in September 2007. We intended to wait longer but in a month also tragically lost a cat and found we felt so bereft (though we still had 3 cats) that a new puppy was necessary for our sanity. Along came Oban on Dec. 8 of the same year. Looking forward to puppy photos when the time comes.
