Another item, how can I teach a puppy to catch in her mouth? Frizbee, ball, treats, toys? Most of my dogs have just done it, but right now she just lets it fall.
use a high pitch happy voice "come on" and some treats if needed. or a toy.
remember the puppy doesn't know any of these words yet. you are speaking to it in a language you haven't taught them yet. make yourself more interseting.

It sounds like you don't have a fenced area to let the puppy offleash free and play? in that case i'd recommend a long line so the puppy doesn't practice "taking off" while you work on training.

I wouldn't worry too much about catching at 10 weeks. just practice for fun, it'll come with age. or do you mean bringing the object back to you? again I wouldn't worry too much about it at that age.

She does a great job fetching the item and bringing back to an area. She is getting the hang of "drop" as well. I am focusing on having her bring it directly to me rather than her "safety area".

I had a golden that would leap and grab frizbees and catch a tennis ball out of the air, but I think you are right and am expecting a lot from a 10 wk old.

The last thing you want a 10 week old puppy doing is jumping and twisting for a frisbee. Save that kind of play until she has grown up. That kind of repetitive jumping, twisting and landing is hard on growing joints.

I recommend working on "drop it" separately in short sessions. if you want tips on that best to post another thread in the training section for "how to's". for now try using two toys to see if he'll drop the first
