Hello, Just joined yesterday. We have a 17 month old Silver Lab. Found this forum, while looking for side effects from Seresto collar and dog with itchy skin.

Welcome, hopefully you have thick skin Silver Labs are a hot topic around here. A lot of us recognize Labs only come in three colors, yellow, black and brown and silver is a mixed with Weimaraner.
Everyone is welcome here so don’t get discouraged by what others on here say about your sliver as there are a lot of knowledgeable people who can help with your questions if you give them half a chance.
What’s his/her name? Would like to see a photo of him/her too.

Hi and welcome! We have members with all types of labs and all types of wannabe labs.

It's also been said that silver's tend to have more skin issues,. Whatever is causing your pup's misery, I hope you can figure out a solution. Is he/she only itching around the neck? There are a number of dogs on here with allergies, so hopefully we can offer some good ideas to manage them.

“Because of the dog's joyfulness, our own is increased. It is no small gift. It is not the least reason why we should honor as well as love the dog of our own life, and the dog down the street, and all the dogs not yet born. What would the world be like without music or rivers or the green and tender grass? What would this world be like without dogs?”

You might want to check out some sites regarding color dilution alopecia (CDA), there is a well known one on Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/ColorDilutionAlopecia). Dogs with dilute coat colors such as "silver" are commonly afflicted with CDA, which can cause itching, hair loss and other skin/coat issues that are genetic and not related to any anti-flea collars or topicals. The person who admins the Facebook page mentioned above has the same type of dog you do.

    Welcome!

We have a member that had a rescued silver lab with skin issues. I can't remember her name post-forum crash but I believe she is still around and may be able to offer suggestions.

ETA - I think it was 3chocmom that was lukesmom before the crash and Luke was the silver that had skin issues.

    Hello and Welcome!

I do agree with only three colors of lab. But, all labs, mixes and nonlabs are welcome here. The thing is, we love dogs.

    Looking forward to pictures.
