Crate your pup if you can't watch him. Tether if you can't trust him out of the crate. Offer chew things like kongs etc. Train and exercise. Distract from things your dog does want to chew and redirect to things he is allowed to chew. Lots of praise for desired behavior. If something is valuable put it up or away so it doesn't get destroyed.

Welcome from some neighbors a few states to the west! Congrats on Max! We have trained our Bacon to hunt, waterfowl and upland. He was an absolute dream to train, picked up on things quickly and has had a very successful first 2 years of hunting. We trained using Tom Dokken's book Retriever training Tom Dokken's Retriever Training: Tom Dokken: 0074962008589: Amazon.com: Books along with help from our breeder and local hunting Lab club.

For Chewing, make sure you start bite inhibition early. Those needle teeth hurt, so give a firm NO when they bite something undesirable, and then redirect to something appropriate, like a bone or toy.

    Good luck!

Well, we got Max home last night. He slept very well, I took him out at 3:00 (no whining or barking) in the morning. He has had a great time getting to know everyone. Daisey us pretty unimpressed.. LOL... Here's a new pic of him after his first bath.. The breeder gave him one yesterday, but the other pups got yo him before we picked him up.

Why did you bathe him again? Just curious...
With Labs you want to be careful about stripping away the natural oils in their coats. And w/ it being winter, skin/ coats can get dry quickly as it is w/ puppies.

When we picked him up he had been with his brothers and sisters. He had a sticky feel. Potty training was not being enforced at all... I'm aware of the waterproofing, thanks for checking though...
