    New to Forum - Hi!

    Hello,

My family includes a husband, 4 human children, 3 cats and 3 dogs. Our oldest dog, Abby (whom we fondly refer to as "Grandma" because of her advance age) is a beagle. Our two newest additions are Ripley (female, yellow lab, 11 months old...we got her when she was 7 weeks old) and Charli (female, chocolate lab, 8 weeks old, we just added her to our family this weekend). Ripley is a fantastic dog. She is well mannered, super temperment and an all-around joy. Charli is a typical 8 week old baby. My family is already in love with her and Abby and Ripley seem to like her as well. I'm here because I figured we'd need all the support we can get with two young labs at a staggered age. I can't find much on the internet on raising staggered labs. I want to be sure that they are both getting what they need as individual dogs to be happy and healthy.

I look forward to becoming part of this community.

    -Kerri

Welcome to the board!!! I don't think there is any magic formula for raising 2 pups this close in age. Separate training sessions, and keep a close eye when Ripley is playing with Charli. Labs play ROUGH, and it can be easy for a puppy to get hurt unintentionally. Other than that enjoy them!!!!

    Let's see some pics!

Thank you barry581. Thanks for the advice!

We've been keeping a close eye on them when they are outside together, and we've also been giving them alone time outside with us as well. I will post pics as soon as the site will let me.

    Hello and Welcome!

Just saw the pictures you posted of the dynamic duo and they are uber cute. No advice here, we home older dogs. You have a younger family and both dogs should thrive with all that love and attention.
