Bumped into another good friend in the park this morning...sent her your thread/pictures....sounds interested.

I'll be back later...racing the rain to get my two out for their walk.

Man I really appreciate the effort you're putting in, dog people are the best people! Meet Winston (American Bulldog) and Rocky (Golden Retriever) Rocky's litter-mate Jake died at 13 this past July. Both by-the-way are rescues. I did get a bite on a facebook page I posted and I'm the process of doing the application for the lab rescue LRCP. I have hope we will find a good home. I'd really like someone close by so I can stay in touch, not to interfere, but to just keep track.

I was hoping to hear back from Irene by now but I think she works on Saturdays, so....

I've got my fingers crossed. I'd get to see Josh regularly at the park if she took him. He'd definitely have a good home with her (I wouldn't have asked anyone I wouldn't trust with my own dogs...which eliminated a lot of people.)

Happy to meet Winston and Rocky!

The one person I was so hoping might take Josh just let me know that she really can't commit to another dog at this time because of obligations. I don't have anyone left to ask. I'm sorry. I hope one of those rescues will be able to help you...Josh looks and sounds like such a sweetheart.

Again, thanks for the effort. I teach here in Damascus and one of the teachers is interested. Fingers crossed!

Good luck. It would be great if you could keep him local and get to see him from time to time.

I hope you won't be in need of a rescue but I did just hear back from Good Old Tails. They do not take dogs from the public.

Let us know if/when you find a home for Josh, OK?

We had to rehome a adopted dog ,he was a 80lb lab mix. Was kid aggressive .the rescue told us the opposite . They also have no take back policy. We got lucky with a all dog rescue. He found a home soon with no kids. Try even non lab rescue .

sorry but a rescue with a no take back policy shouldn't be ALLOWED. full stop.

OP good luck, and I agree, do not limit to breed specific rescues (lab rescues) there are wonderful all breed rescues as well.
