Inside the mouth color and dog is stupid?

I was filling up my truck at the gas station today. Levi (14 week old chocolate lab) was with me. The lady who works around the gas pumps walks by and talks to me:

    her: is that your lab?
    me: yes it is.
    her: how old?
    me: 14 weeks.
her: what color is the inside of his mouth?
    me: .....mmmm....I’m not sure...pink I guess.
her: the dog is stupid then.
    me: why?
her: because his mouth inside is pink.
    me: I see.
her: I had a black and a chocolate lab. The black lab was smart and trained very quickly. The inside of his mouth was black. The chocolate had a pink mouth inside and could not be trained. After so many months I had to get rid of him.
    me: that’s too bad.
her: I grew up on a farm, so I know smart from stupid animals.
    me: ok, bye.

Now, my last lab who lived to 15 years was a female and had the same mouth color. Plus, the vet told me that pink gums is a healthy sign on a dog. You go to the vet and they always check the gums.

so, what gives here? Comments please.

Think the appropriate answer to that is - You can't fix stupid. I feel sorry for her animals. I wonder if she "gets rid" of a horse or cow that has a white spot, or brown or black, on their leg instead of their head.

That’s an interesting theory she’s got, and I too feel sorry for her animals. I’d bet the inside of her mouth is pink - just saying

And what's the color of HER mouth??? I'm assuming it's pink like the rest of the (stupid) human race.

    Yup, you can't fix stupid!!!

BTW, in TCM, the color inside our mouths - animals included, defines our health from head to toe. Bet she doesn't know that, huh!!

There is some truth to the chocolates being hard to train and manage. It can apply to any colour though, when the dog is bred for colour and tempermant is ignored. Chocolates were a craze some years ago, lots of poorly bred ones around. Silvers, Charcoals and Champagnes might fall prey to this. There was at one time a big problem in Saint Bernards when a popular stud dog had serious disposition problems and passed his nastiness on to his get.

Of course the Vet checks the gums. Your own Doctor checks yours too. Gum colour is an indication of health, pale colour is not good and a possible a sign of circulation problems, for one thing.

Please, keep buying your gas there and talking to that lady. I'm sure we would all love to hear more jewels of wisdom from her.
