A big thanks to Sundance for bringing this issue back up again.
I did not realize people were leaving the forum because the little lock button in their browser was showing the site as not being secure. When Google first introduced this it was not seen a a big deal but I fell behind in getting it updated for a number of reasons.
I do not believe anybodies information was ever at risk and as it was mentioned there isn't anything like credit cards etc stored on the forum. Even the big sites that sink mega dollars into security still suffer data breaches. MGM Resorts being the latest one.
I have added the proper security certification to the website. So you will see the Secure Lock in your browser now.
However, there are still some pages showing up as not secure such as the New Post and Private Message pages. They are displaying not secure because there are icons or photos locations or references that I have to fix. There are about 100 pages I have to open one by one and update.
The security is in place but Google will not show the lock until I fix the locations on these pages. It is referred to as "soft issue" when I run the scan.
I will be working on them over the next week or so. It's timely.
If you run into actual errors let me know.
On a Plus Note it looks like the broken icons and images on profiles etc got fixed in the process so it's a good thing!!!
