    Only Treats Sully Has

    -image_135655-jpg

These are the only treats Sully can have.
I'd love to make something similar. I cannot
find the ingredients and % of everything online for you to read.

Haven't seen those but could you find raw duck and make jerky? You couldn't get all the ingredients and might have to grind your own duck (avoid any pre-ground that contains bone, shouldn't cook bone) but it might be close enough? Oban had Lymphangiectasia and had a restricted diet. I made jerky with ground kangaroo, baked sweet potato and some others that varied - banana maybe, or blueberry etc. Why is it Sully can only have these, a dietary concern like we had?

Hey there. Sully has EPI. He has raw only. He also has weekly B12 shots and enzymes in his diet. There is a specific ratio of crude protein and fiber that he's allowed. These treats are so incredibly low on all of it.
I almost lost him as a puppy. I did so much research and was able to successfully get him maintained and managed by the support of an EPI forum on FB. We finally were able to see the vets at OVC. They told me I should have been a vet. We did rule out alot of other diseases that could have masked EPI but they were all neg. Okay my daughter brought me the package to take a photo. Here are the numbers for the treats [% values]. They give him no GI distress. I do give him beef lung but he can only have a certain amount of it. I am just so nervous trying anything because his GI is so sensitive with his pancreatic insufficiency.

Ah, we tested for EPI, wasn't it. Oban was near death too but we got a lead on a reasonably close Holistic/Integrative Vet who saved his life. We went raw. She, the Vet, carefully supervised diet, treats, exercise, everything. I made up the jerky at her suggestion. Would your Vet be able to advise you on specifics like ingredients in treats you make yourself? We did B12 injections too but were able to stop them.

Alot of vets aren't really knowledgeable with EPI. I still remind them that OVC recommended B12 weekly to ensure the vets contiune the regiment we do. We tried to lessen the B12 shots but he quickly turned again. Really the B12 shots won't hurt because he just pees out whatever he doesn't need.

I will ask around again. I just find the treats so expensive. I want an unlimited supply 😉
