When Bo came to us my buddy said he didn’t like the water so I said I’d have him swimming within the month.
Well it only took 3 weeks just because of scheduling but he finally swam. We went to Blackwater River by the state park in the panhandle of Florida. It’s basically the headwaters of the river where everyone goes kayaking or tubing down. To get to our favorite spot we had to hike about 20 minutes or so through the forest which Bo loved. When we got there the first test was to cross to the other side which was only waist deep, Bo was a little hesitant and needed a helping hand but after that it was GAME ON! He loved it and was definitely tired at the end of the trip.

Snowshoe, most of the river at that spot is only waist deep but yes we did spend a lot of time in the water playing with Bo.

Over the years, some of my Labs were natural swimmers from the word go, others took a few trip to the pond to swim. But in the end, they all swam, and they all pretty much loved the water. I think Sophie was the only one who wasn't crazy about water, she'd swim, but she always needed a reason. The rest, it was see water, get in water.

All our labs have loved the water. We typically go to the ocean and even with the waves, once they get it, they really get it! Good work, Bo!
