7 weeks old! One more week to go! They are showing more personality, and it looks like we'll be choosing between two boys who are quite different. One is smaller and "the life of the party" while the other is a big cuddly and quietly curious chunk. Barley is known among our friends as the "Frat party on paws" so I've been talking with the breeder about going with a gentler personality as being a better mix, so the big adorable bruiser will probably be our guy. Evaluations this weekend so we'll know soon!

I thoughts Sonic was a chill guy until he entered adolescence and went nuts

They are all so cute. Can't wait to hear which one will be yours!

“Because of the dog's joyfulness, our own is increased. It is no small gift. It is not the least reason why we should honor as well as love the dog of our own life, and the dog down the street, and all the dogs not yet born. What would the world be like without music or rivers or the green and tender grass? What would this world be like without dogs?”

Tomorrow is the day! Here's our boy!

It's been 7 years since we've had puppy chaos in our house. Yesterday we set up the crates for crate training and Barley was giving the thing the side eye - hey what is that thing doing out again? Oh boy is he going to be surprised tomorrow afternoon.

He's here and he's just a perfect little guy! It was about a three hour drive to pick him up yesterday and he handled the drive home like a champ. About an hour of napping on my lap, followed by a wiggly hour of chewing on toys and wanting to look out the window, followed by another hour of napping. He was so curious to look out the window, it was so cute. Neither Thor or Barley cared about that when we brought them home.

As expected my older two are a bit wary of the new addition, but they will warm up fast. Thor was already tolerating couch cuddles within a couple of hours. Teddy really wants to play with the big boy toys which Barley is a little confused about. He doesn't mind sharing, it's just that Thor has never been interested.

He's a really interesting puppy to watch - I can just see the gears turning in his head while he observes the bigger dogs. Last night we were tossing a ball for Barley in the living room (I call it lazy fetch - it's mostly him dumping a ball on my lap and I push it off so it rolls across the room). Teddy was watching every move of the ball with intense attention.

He slept from 10:30 to 4:30 on the first night and so far no inside accidents. Let the puppy fun begin!
