    Are labs bred for obesity?

I don't know but I know mine are all about the treat!

Hey, Mom, I came in when you called- where's my treat?

Hey, Mom, Henry came in when you called, where's my treat?

Hey, Mom, I heard that banana being peeled, where's my piece?

Hey, Mom, where's my bedtime treat?

“Because of the dog's joyfulness, our own is increased. It is no small gift. It is not the least reason why we should honor as well as love the dog of our own life, and the dog down the street, and all the dogs not yet born. What would the world be like without music or rivers or the green and tender grass? What would this world be like without dogs?”

They certainly love their food, but people are the ones overfeeding them. I've never had a fat Lab, Cookie was fit all his life, even in his senior years, and Sonic is a hyperactive maniac but I still watch his food intake.

Some Labs have the hunger gene, the POMC gene mutation, which can lead to obesity. Flat Coated Retrievers were found to have this gene too.

I think my neighbors lab can smell when I am making treats and heads right over. He is all about the food. I only give him one or two treats a day.

Read about this a few years ago, however I've never met a Lab who isn't hungry

LOL, yes, and I have never seen a Flat-coat that wasn't very lean. While I have seen some darn fat Labs. I have only seen a few Flat-coats though.

I always imagine this is the kind of conversation I would have with Thor if he could text.
