Sorry I did not get back to answer sooner. Short answer, it is definitely worth a try. For other reasons that itchy allergies my boy went home cooked, then slowwwwwly raw, then due to a relapse back to kibble but a Rx one. Almost as soon as we went home cooked his health issue resolved AND the itching stopped. The itching never returned in the 7 years he lived after first going home cooked.
