Not sure what this is. Please help

Ok, So I have a lab, she is 5-6 years old.. but recently has something on her fur that kinda has a waxy, gummy texture. We wipe it off and it comes right back. When it's wiped off, it looks like the color of iron or maybe dried blood. It's been there for about a week. I just tried wiping it off with this skin infection spray and she didnt seem to like that much. almost like it stung or something. Any help would be appreciated ! thanks in advance

I can't really tell from this picture but looks like a wound (or hot spot) that got infected. Clean with iodine and hydrogen peroxide and don't allow her to lick that spot. I'd also ask the vet to have a look at it.

It is hard to see in the photo. Is it just that one small spot? Doesn't appear that she has been licking it, no? Is there a bump? A raised area? I'd Vet too, I think. Nothing better than spending money at the Vet only to be told it's some minor thing, easily dealt with, best case scenario.

Could be a bite or sting or something that has gotten a bit infected. One of my dogs had a hot spot from an unknown cause that oozed a thick fluid and cleaning it did not keep it from continuing to ooze. He ended up shaved in that area and put on antibiotics. This is just a guess, it's hard to tell from photos sometimes.

I agree with hot spot/infection ooze and a visit to the vet. When my Akita opened up a hot spot above her tail (single flea bite/allergic reaction), the lotion the vet prescribed made her sink down on her legs from the sting. It's been too many years...I don't remember how we resolved it...but your vet is the person who can get this cleared up.

It looks like the start of a hot spot. Usually without treatment, they will increase in size quite rapidly. I would definitely bring her to your Vet for evaluation. Hot spots can get sore and nasty very quickly.
