I wonder why she didn't do a needle aspiration...maybe his ear was too painful from the infection or it is too small. I hope it'll turn out to be insignificant. Good that you got the infection diagnosed, either way.

Poor Ovie . Sending Ovie healing thoughts and all the best!

Ursa also sends Ovie all the best wishes that the meds and ear cleaner with heal his infection! Ursa is on round #3 with her ear infection. She's been to the vet twice for treatments and another visit is pending, but we want to try flushing her ear out with the cleaner they gave us for the next 5 days. At least this time her ear isn't bleeding. Ursa has never had an ear infection before these 3 in her left ear, so this is annoying for her and us. She even has some balance loss, does Ovie?

    Poor senior pups .

Round 3? That sounds awful. When Cooper had his persistent infection the only that cleared was the Purple Solution that a member on here recommended years ago.

Ovie's bump seems alot smaller today when I checked it. We are putting some of the ear solution on it so maybe it's helping.

I'll post an update next week.
    Thanks Everyone!!

Woody, round 3 since last year September. I believe the 1 time flushing the vets did wasn't enough, so hence us flushing her ear everyday for 10 days as the bottle of Pro Otic says to do (5 days is for general ear cleaning). After this, we'll put in the antibiotic liquid we still have. Then, if we still get a lot of gunk out on the kleenex, it's back to the vet.

We've also used the purple solution in the past and it's good, now the vet sold us Pro Otic.

Ursa appears to be doing a little better, her loss of balance isn't as bad as it was earlier this week. She couldn't go up the stairs, slowly going down was fine, but today she's going up stairs on her own again.

Good that Ovie's ear bump is looking better. It looked to me like a blood blister. Ursa had a blood hematoma on her right ear flap from shaking her head so much. Vet checked it and in days it disappeared. I think Ovie and Ursa are about the same age. Ursa turns 13 next month, she's doing good other than this recurring ear infection.

Hugs to Ovie for Ursa and me!

Woody ~ I'm hoping you've noticed an improvement by now, maybe even had Ovie's recall appointment? Thinking good thoughts about that bump.

Ovie went to the vet yesterday and his ear infection has cleared up 100%. I suspect that we caught it early because it went away easy.

As for the lump it has not changed in size although it looks smaller to me. The vet says it appears to be dried up and we are going to give it a couple more weeks to see where it goes. It not growing in size is a big plus. They have never really said what they think it is. He saw two different vets.

So we are going to wait and see.
    Thanks Everyone!!

Good news about Ovie's ear infection being all better!

Ursa's long dragging ear infection appears to be gone, but I go in her ear with a Kleenex every few days (for now) looking for extra goop or blood just because.
