Hi everyone... updates on Ursa and Loua...

Update on Loua:
No results from pathology yet.
Loua is doing very well with her incisions healing, so we're giving her more freedom on flat floors and our backyard, but no stairs, running or jumping.

Update on Ursa:
Yesterday was a bad day for Ursa, with 1X vomiting and several diarrheas, which have stopped today. To top it off, Ursa's neck seized up this morning, so both Ursa and Loua are on bedrest. Ursa lays wherever she's most comfortable and sweet Loua decided to show her support and lay with Ursa, as the picture shows. These 2 girls have a very tight bond and love each other a lot!

Update on Loua:

Tomorrow is the big day, the sutures come out and then Loua can have her freedom again!! It's been a tough 12 days with no running, playing, going up and down the stairs, and being confined in her wire crate or expen, and wearing the donut - night and day.

Then, last week Wednesday late evening, Loua broke past 2 barriers and ran down the stairs! OH NO!!! Yup, she popped a stitch right in the fold of her elbow and all we saw was a hole in her leg. Tried to dress and vet wrap it, but in no time the wrapping fell to her ankles, so kept her in her crate until we could phone the vet the next day. The vet said it's a tough area to wrap, so to apply some raw honey on the open wound several times a day. We did that until most of Loua's shoulder and leg got sticky from the honey, and the wound wasn't closing much, so we gently cleaned her off with water and started applying Calendula cream and within 1.5 days, the wound was closing up. This wound will be a scar with no fur growing on it, but the rest of her incisions all look really nice.

Update on Ursa:

Ursa is doing quite well again! Her stiff neck and back pains are gone and she's now eating and drinking from raised bowls. Her vomiting was caused by a Chinese herb and we've stopped that one.

Yesterday, I pulled out of storage the clean Halloween stuffies and Ursa was the first to take one in her mouth and play with it. At times today, she'd walk with one or the other in her mouth and was wagging her tail. Sadly, she can't run after the orange pumpkin when I kick it around, but it makes me smile that she's carrying a stuffie instead.

Her bloodwork showed a slight increase in the Crea, a good decrease in the Urea, and she's a little less anemic. We've added Urinary Gold and she's doing well on it - less outside pee trips during the night.

All in all, Ursa is holding her own and is still alert, happy and insists on going for her walks. Yesterday I took Loua for a walk - locked Urs in the house because she was sleeping, thought to skip Ursa's walk, but NO WAY, Urs was standing by the backdoor waiting to go for her walk when Loua and I came back.

Not sure how I missed all of this. I am glad to hear she is doing better. Wanting to go for a walk or should I say insisting kinda makes me smile. Wishing for continued progress
