Several things come to mind, I'd take a wild guess something is going on in the brain. Either a tumor or canine cognitive dysfunction. Blood tests won't really show this. Did the vet suggest an MRI or CT? If it was the sprain muscles causing neurological symptoms these would be local and would only have to do with the affected limb (like dragging the leg for example), but from what you describe she appears like she has lost it (barking, bumping into things, peeing on the carpet).

One of my friend's girls had to have an emergency C section and was given tramadol. She too had very weird hallucinations for a lack of better term. I don't remember how long it took after she was off the tramadol to return to normal but she did.

I will definitely look into holistic vets.
Poor girl, that sounds scary. have you been in contact with your vet? Personally I would be back at the vet asap, 5 seizures (if that's what they are) is pretty extreme for a 24 hour period

I am so sorry you are going thru this, i can't imaigne how scary it must be. well i sorta can I guess.

anyway I was researching seizures and found this:
"A psychomotor seizure involves strange behavior that only lasts a couple of minutes. Your dog may suddenly start attacking an imaginary object or chasing his tail. It can be tricky to tell psychomotor seizures from odd behavior, but a dog that has them will always do the same thing every time he has a seizure."

Yep. I'd say it was a seizure. Though I'm not a veterinarian person. I will say that the urinary incontinence is sort of classic.

Five seizures is a lot. Is she quite lethargic following an episode? If so this is what is referred to as the post-ictal phase of the seizure, i.e., when the brain is doing a hard reboot if you will. In a human, if the seizures are recurring before the patient is back to normal (i.e., over the post-ictal phase) then we call that status epilepticus. It's a really bad thing in people.

If it were me, and if the vet could not tell me FOR SURE that it was NOT seizures, then I would demand that he start my dog on an anticonvulsant drug. I think phenobarbital is most commonly used for dogs. It's major side effect is that the dog will be sedated. But that's not going to hurt. And the risks of the drug are FAR less severe than continued seizures.

Once the dog is stable and episode-free for some length of time, you'll wean the dog off the drug. (You do not stop this drug all at once.)

Get the activity on your phone recorder if you can. I have made many diagnosis of seizures by looking at a video of the incident. Yes, Tramadol, like any drug that affects the brain can potentiate seizures. If your dog is truly having cluster seizures, something needs to be done about it. The general rule is that if a dog has cluster seizures, we begin treatment to control seizures immediately and then try to back off once they have stopped. Each time the dog seizures, it creates a greater potential for the next seizure to occur. Therefore we need to stop that cycle. Your vet can look up the half-life of the Tramadol but if I were your vet, I would be focused on stopping the seizures and not just looking for the reason. Of course, I use acupuncture to stop seizures which avoids the use of more narcotics, but that is a different story. Good luck and let us know how it goes. Maybe you could post a video on this site and let us have a look.
