    First Day Home for Cliff

He is in his new home.

It is midnight as I write this, I finally have a sleeping Labrador. Whew what a first day. He couldn't come home Monday, his mom had an emergency at the vets office and had to go in all day. So today was the day. I picked him up at noon. His mom was very sad to see him go.

We got home at 2:00 and went for a short walk before the heat came in, It got to 90 here today. Then the fun started.

Getting out of the truck now at his forever home.

Then he discovered he had a new toy a snuffle mat, he had a lot of fun finding treats

Then he discovered the Air conditioner vent. I though he might take a nap, that was wishful thinking.

Then we had to chew on the frisbee, it feels good while teething I take it. His new dad forgot all about the teething we will fix that tonight as seen later

Then maybe we are going to take a nap?

Nope we are going to wrestle, well ok.

After supper we went to toy store to get puppy chewy things. And he picked out a new toy as big as him

Which was a very big hit,

However it is now Midnight he has finally dozed off. Excitement from new home.
I am certainly hoping he sleeps in tomorrow but I have my doubts. Lab puppies so much energy. I also recorded the highest step reading for the year

Oh Cliff, what a great start to your adventure with our buddy, Jeff! I love that giant Lamb Chop stuffie! And that little face on him lying his head on your knee? Could that be any sweeter? Oh happy, happy day!

Up at 7 am, I forgot how much energy lab puppys have.

We spent the first part making learning the rules of breakfast. We have to sit and stay put until breakfast is served. So hard for pups.

After breakfast we rested a while to let things settle and then well this has been my morning. Wouldn't trade it for the world. However, not gonna lie, I am gonna need a nap.

Maybe you should try your step counter on Cliff! No question that a happy, active lab puppy like Cliff is going to out-step any of us, but I wonder, as he matures, what his step count will do. But, of course, that might take a few years of measurements to see a difference.

“Because of the dog's joyfulness, our own is increased. It is no small gift. It is not the least reason why we should honor as well as love the dog of our own life, and the dog down the street, and all the dogs not yet born. What would the world be like without music or rivers or the green and tender grass? What would this world be like without dogs?”
