This happens before every walk as we get ready. Toy(s) in mouth and he circles the place until we saddle him up. He also picks up speed in the same spot a couple of times if we take too long. We found out that somebody has also taught him "drop it" as he drops the toy every time on command. Now if we can just get him to stop pulling everything would be fine.
He also likes to bring two toys sometimes.

My yellow girl Fannie was like this. She always had a stuffy in her mouth, and she walk around like Ovie. The funniest was when someone would knock at the door, she'd pick up a stuffy and go to the door, barking with the stuffy in her mouth. She really was a special girl.

Oh gosh, Lark does the same thing. If I get up and put on my shoes or my coat, that's her signal to grab a toy and start circling. Sometimes she just circles right in the front hall, other times she goes through the whole first floor. Henry just waits in the hall. Most of the time I don't care but sometimes as she approaches and I want to put the leash on, she circles away and goes back to her own ritual. The walk ritual- that's it!

Dan's excitement always involves a stuffy, too, and banging his head into mine as I put on my shoes. It's so much fun trying to tie laces with a head in the way.
The toenail accompaniment adds something special to the routine.
