I get the larger, thicker ones (11" long) for Lark occasionally at the local "boutique" pet food place. She loves them but they're ridiculously expensive so I limit the time she gets to chew on one to try to make it last longer. If I let her chew a large one for 15 minutes at a time, it might stretch out over 3-4 days, depending upon how tightly it was rolled. I don't think those small sticks would last long with a lab, if having your dog settle in for some quality chewing time is your objective. Their description "hours of safe, reliable enjoyment" might be if your dog is the size of a large mouse. But, they don't smell bad and supposedly contain no rawhide.

I got a small one for my puppy and he loved it. He chewed for a few hours in total today, and there’s quite a but left. Not sure I’ll let him chew it every day, but it gave me a break from his puppy craziness to get a few things done today. I just want to make sure they’re healthy.

I also used the 11" chews in the past. They would last a few days when the dogs were less than 4 months old. Once they had their adult teeth, They would last maybe 15 minutes. Both of mine are your typical power chewing Labradors.

Here’s a pic of Diggity and his first no hide bone. So far, so good!

I've been buying the Shadow River but they've gotten really expensive (and you can't even always get the 25 count)...they have been reliably nicely sized and fresh. They were sold without size distinction and I haven't purchased any since they now are sold by size.

I bought the others this past time...they seem to be fine, a bit smaller on average than what SR has been selling (which were admittedly pretty large) but fresh.

I'd tried others and found some to smell rancid upon opening the bag. One other smelled OK to me but the dogs wouldn't touch them. Don't remember brands but they came boxed.

    Diggity is adorable!

Thanks, just ordered the shadow river ones.

He’s adorable except when he’s chewing everything in sight! I know he’s a puppy, so I’m trying to encourage chewing something other than my clothes and my furniture! Hoping the lamb ears help.

I've never tried those. The last round of puppies, we bought the white knuckle bones from Merrick. They scrape them so at worst you get some white flakes that need to be cleaned off the floor.
