I've never heard anything about the length of a dog's tail correlating to how tall they get. Can you explain that to me?
Hi, we were told this years ago by a Lab breeder, that when the tip of the tail touches the top of the hock (either side), they've almost reached their mature height. We've used this "trick" ever since and it's pretty accurate.

Loua has big paws and a neighbor had said when Loua was about 6 - 8 months old, "she's going to be a big girl!", I said no, she's almost at her mature height" and showed him the hock trick. Loua's tail is short and so is she (just over 21 inches at her shoulders), she just has big, compact paws.

He is a really good boy for now! He stops and comes on command but I have to be very vigilant with people and other dogs (thankfully with the colder weather there is not much traffic in the park). The only issue will be chasing critters especially when the hedgehogs come out of hibernation in spring, I don't want trouble with them! Squirrels, birds and mice are uncatchable anyway. Cookie never chased critters so this is new territory for me, and we'll have to work on that. It's time for the long lead!

Just measured his height, he is around 46-47 cm which is around 18'' if I am correct. So let's test the theory, he should grow max 10 cm more if he is to be in standard height for the breed.

Here is Sonic at 23 weeks old and a little bit of autumn magic! We've had a record warm autumn, something like a really long Indian summer, which I won't complain about since it's my favourite time of year and usually never lasts long enough!

i chopped his poor nose off but this is the best stack I got on self-timer.

Still long on his legs and I forgot to take his harness off, but an experienced friend told me it's the most awkward phase and that he has some filling in to do. I can't wait to see how he turns out!

Thanks! Great pictures of Sonic! He sure is growing into a beautiful teenager!

No kidding, I was watching your video and Loua was sitting beside me and Loua growled at Sonic! I told her, "no, quiet, Sonic is training and needs to focus"! Loua likes to watch TV, especially when there are animals on it.

I made the mistake once of buying one of those cat-entertainment videos. I remember one of our cats looking at me as if to say, "why would you watch something like this?" None of my cats or dogs paid any attention to the TV. And then there was the time I thought maybe my post-spay shut down sluggish cat would appreciate watching fish in an aquarium...built a floor stand complete with sitting shelves around it. Dumbest thing I ever did.

These pictures are wonderful...what a happy, alert, little guy he is. Nice to see him interacting with a friend, too. (To me, Bosco looks like he's part fox...cute pup!) I'm so glad you share your pictures/videos with us!!!

Sonic is growing up fast! While he's a bit leggy at the moment, he will fill in. The boys do take longer to mature, and Song is just over 16 months old, and when you see him on his own, he looks pretty mature, when you see him right next to Brooks, he still looks like a baby!

Song about a month ago when he finished his Junior Hunter title.
