Haven't read the other responses, but for me it comes down to knowing your environment. No dog parks, vet's parking lots etc., but in our neighborhood dog owners are responsible, keep them up to date and most especially don't let them wander so we took ours out and about in the neighborhood and in areas of the park where we were unlikely to encounter lots of other dogs.

Then we'll get to see a little video of her toddler saying, "Oww, Charlie bit me!" like that cute one of the little boy whose baby brother bit his finger!

BTW, Dexq, lab puppies can be very mouthy and nippy, which can be a little scary for a little one and frustrating for Mom and Dad. There is a post probably in the Puppy Training section on biting that you might want to read in advance.

Thanks so much! I guess it’s a replace, replace and replace for me but been reading as much as I can. Prevent and manage as well. I’m anticipating resistance from my toddler as she will most likely want to Play with the pup. So I’m thinking of games a kid can play with a pup. And of course constant discussion about how puppies play with their mouth and that we are to teach him not to. Thanks for the link! It’s on my list now!

OMG- so cute. There is someone on instagram with a puppy named Smalls. I asked if there was any relation to Sandlot-and they said YES!
