Thank you all for the heartfelt words. Needless to say I'm not doing very well. I just sit in silence. Have to force myself to eat a little something. Samson seems to be doing okay. Donner and Oliver kitties are looking for Asher. I am trying to comfort myself with the thought that God works in mysterious ways --- He wanted the cancer to be known now rather than after Asher finally receiving an elbow replacement next month. Asher displayed no lethargy, weight loss, etc. The shock of his passing will take time. I am sure many of you are familiar with the process.

I'm so, so sorry to read this. I don't know you personally, but your love and support for him throughout his too-short life has shined through in every post here.

My heart breaks for you. I deeply know the pain you are going through right now. You probably remember I lost Niner a few months ago. I’m still having a hard time without him. Many hugs to you. It hurts so bad I know. Run free sweet sweet Asher.

Hugs to you and Samson. I always admired the fight you had to give Asher the best life possible. I am so very sorry for this heartbreaking loss.

Oh my goodness...I am just seeing this thread and trying to catch up on the other. I hardly have words...after everything your dear, sweet boy has been through...this is so hard to comprehend.

I want you to know, that you were absolutely the best, best, best Mom ever for Asher and you did everything and much more for him...looking at the pictures, he knew how much you loved him and he had a wonderful life with you.

I can't even try to tell you how sorry I am...it just seems so unfair... I know.

Maybe God took him for a reason, to spare you any other problems down the road with his leg. But it doesn't make it easier.

Rest gently and pain free, dear sweet boy Asher...

I am so, so, so sorry for your loss...

I know the tough time you are going through. I'm sure Asher would want you be as strong for yourself as you were for him. Take care.

I'm so sorry, but you are right - the timing was fortuitous ... better than if he had gone through all the pain (not to mention expense) of the surgery only to lose him before he could have the benefits of it. (((HUGS))) At least he is no longer in pain ... he's leaving that to you to bear :-(
