I am so very sorry for your heartbreaking loss of your beloved Oban and my heart goes out to you during this very difficult time. I feel like I got to know your gorgeous boy pretty well from reading your posts about him over the years and I feel so saddened that he has gone on his journey to the Bridge. He had a great life with many adventures and it was very clear how much you loved him and how much you did for him, so I know only too well how devastated you must be at his loss. You have so many beautiful memories of your beautiful boy and he will never be forgotten and will be forever loved and dearly missed. Run free Oban, I am sure you have probably already found all the snowy trails at the bridge.

I'm so sorry to read this and sending you and your loved ones best thoughts at this time.

Rest in peace gorgeous Oban. As others have said, there is a crew of virtual lab board furry friends that you'll now get the chance to meet at the Bridge.

    Take care.

Thanks to all of you. I know many of you know how we are feeling right now and are thinking of your own pets who are waiting for you at the Rainbow Bridge. Do you ever wonder, as I do, if your pets there like each other, are friends? Silly I guess but my two male dogs were both intact and I hope Teddy will get along with Oban. Whisper and Jet were spayed girls so the boys and they will like each other, I hope.

I am not crying, I did that in the past few weeks as walks went from 20 to 10 to 5 minutes and Oban got to the point of just lying on the ground watching Mum as she took photos of flowers. Oban declined quickly, a blessing of sorts, no long lingering.

My Sis, one of Oban's favourite people visited on Monday. She brought Bonnie of course, who many of you have seen photos of when Bonnie stayed here on vacation. Bonnie was looking for Oban. She checked the backyard and the house. There was no way for us to tell her he was gone. She kept scratching a the back door to get in and look for him. It was sad.

A last funny story from Oban. I put hydrangeas on each side of our back deck steps some years ago and Oban pee'd on them. To prevent that I put large rocks, small boulders really, in front of each and one became Oban's go to pee spot. It's a nice big rock with pretty rings of colour in it and we've moved it to the back to mark his grave. It seems fitting to us.

I am so sorry for your loss. I often wondered too if all my babies got along with the others that came after, and always tell them to be nice when a new sibling comes along. I think about them and the friends they made here on earth and wonder if they run to the bridge to greet their old friends. I hope so, especially the strays that pass and have no family to call their own.

I will like many others miss the stories of Oban.

I sometimes imagine Chase greeting other pups at The Rainbow Bridge, when I give in to a little fantastical dreaming. Chase, too, would lie down upon meeting new dogs as you describe Oban doing, to show he was, what did you call it? Unarmed and un...?something. I'm sure Chase, just a year older than Oban, was lying there waiting to welcome a new friend, or that's what I'd like to imagine.

I am so very sorry to hear about Oban...what a wonderful life he had with you.

It doesn't seem possible, when you bring home a puppy that this day would ever come.

    Rest gently dear Oban...
