Run Free Sprockette

You were the last puppy of what was probably a backyard breeder, but we didn't know better at the time. You loved water from the first, and then you learned that the ball was the best thing ever, next to food. Dock diving didn't go as expected, you loved it, but getting you out of the water was near impossible. You were a dog who liked people better than most dogs, so after a while, we stopped going to the dog park. As you got older, playing fetch became difficult, due to arthritis in a knee. You were the dog in the way, finding the most awkward spots to lay down in, usually in the hall or right in front of the stove. You had the loudest bark a lot of people remarked on, lucky for us, you didn't bark at everything. Sprockette, you will be missed, but never forgotten.

My hugs to you and your family. I know Sprockette will be missed terribly and it will feel lonely without her for a while. It's nice to have those sweet and funny memories to look back on. I'd say run free but you've said that already so I'll wish her happy heavenly swimming.

The pain will fade as time goes by, but the memories will live on forever. Not a days goes by where I don't think about each and every one of my dogs who have gone on. The memories bring mostly smiles, but a tear will still surface now and then. Nothing can compare to having a dog in your life. They make us richer is some many ways. I know the pain you are feeling, I've been through it more times than I care to count. Despite the pain and loss, I'd live through it all again. Their time may be short, but the life they have with us is irreplaceable.

Sprockette, please visit your people as often as you can in their memories. Though you will bring them tears, keep on, in time those tears will be accompanied by smiles and the smiles will soon out number the tears. Because you gave them smiles in life so too will you bring them smiles the rest of their lives.
