    Archie

It has been years and years since I've posted. This community was so helpful when Archie was a pup. Then life happened, we got a second lab, then had a baby, then another baby. Archie LOVED those kids, they were his and he protected them in the most sweet and kind way imaginable. Our older kid was diagnosed with leukemia when he was 4 and Archie was not only his constant companion, but a loving comfort to my husband and I. He was intuitive, sensitive, and just the kindest boy.

We lost him on October 28th to splenic hemangiosarcoma. He was 11.5. It caught us offguard as we had assumed we had at least another year or 2 with him. We miss him immensely.

It felt right to come back and memorialize him here. I know I haven't been active in years and you may not remember him, but sweet Archie, you are so missed.

    Thanks all for reading.

Hi, I am so sorry to hear about Archie's passing. It's always tough especially when it's so unexpected. Cancer sucks.

Oh, I recognize that wedding photo with Archie right there in the middle. I'm sorry to hear that Archie has left the scene. Both our Chase and Lark died of splenic hemangiosarcomas, so sudden and unexpected. I am glad you came back to let us know and to update us a bit on your life. Many hugs to you.

“Because of the dog's joyfulness, our own is increased. It is no small gift. It is not the least reason why we should honor as well as love the dog of our own life, and the dog down the street, and all the dogs not yet born. What would the world be like without music or rivers or the green and tender grass? What would this world be like without dogs?”
