    Bear, Chocolate 8-Mth Old Lab

    -bear-jpg

Eight-month old female chocolate lab, about 32 kg (70 lbs). She's at the Comox Valley BCSPCA, too far away for me to be tempted to get her, but she sure is cute!

"Bear is a sweet, energetic girl looking for an active home! She is happy go lucky and very much still a puppy. She can be jumpy/mouthy at times and will need a home that will guide her with positive reinforcement training. She is very food motivated and eager to please. Due to her bouncy and excitable nature, a home without smaller children would be best suited. She gets along great with older children and adults. If you would like to learn more about Bear, please contact the Comox branch at (250)339-7722."

Enjoy her pic because she's going to be snapped up by someone soon. She looks super trim and energetic. And fun. If you live on Vancouver Island and are looking for a lab, there she be. You'll have to move quickly though.

    Gosh.

You are out on the west coast right? Two labs have come up for adoption locally but i'm in Ontario. Actually make that 3...

Yep, I’m on the west coast. Really labby labs are few and far between at our shelters. If one appears, is dog & people-friendly, poof, adopted just like that. Ontario seems to have more labs in rescue than here, I think.

Bear’s been adopted by someone already.

I haven’t broken my habit of looking at dogs online, but so far all the likely candidates have been too far away. I’d really like to get another dog but there are many reasons it would be better to wait.

If Bear had been at a closer branch, boy, that would’ve been a tough decision. You have to be ready to leap though and I’m not. Here, if you hesitate on a likely dog, you miss out. Which is a good thing for the dogs.
