Intense competition to adopt dogs in BC, Canada

Since April, the BCSPCA has about seven dogs available for adoption at any one time. That’s for a population of 5.1 million people. Other rescue organizations are out of dogs too. On average, the BCSPCA gets 250 applications per new dog posted online. Today’s new dog is Rosy.

    She’s a 77lb, three year old lab.

She’ll get a zillion applications despite the first line of caution in her description. In some ways, that’ll make it easier for the BCSPCA to find the more likely adopters.

It’s a crap shoot as to whether training, engaging her brain, lots of different outdoor activities and attention would curb most of her barking. It did with Boomer.

Ah, I miss having a dog.
