Kefir would provide more probiotic than store bought yogurt. You can make your own kefir. However Oban's Vet has recently suggested lactose free yogurt instead, to avoid even the small amount of lactose in my home made kefir. I find I like it myself but it's much sweeter, probably has a different sugar added. I need to research that. You can make your own lactose free kefir. Store bought Acidopholous is often used when dosing antibiotic, to restore gut bacteria the antibiotic kills off, another option but ask your Vet.

Huh. It's been so long since I looked in the yogurt aisle. I hadn't realized they'd come out with a lactose-free version. I'm going to have to check that out for myself now. So glad you mentioned it.
My vet said they checked for all that.
Yes, we give Loua an organic probiotic yogurt 2X daily, adult dogs can have it 3X daily, but you're best of to give a good probiotic capsule 2X daily.
Those deadly, stinky farts could mean giardia or even C. difficle https://www.animalbiome.com/blog/doe...ay-be-to-blame - which Opal had twice.

Really stinky poo and farts are usually a sign of giardia or coccidia.
I was thinking the same thing. And sometimes it doesn’t show up on tests the first time around. If it were me, I’d have my pup retested. Or, ask the vet to prescribe panacur just to be sure. It’s super safe and if there is something going on that isn’t showing up a test, panacur would likely get rid of it. (Saying this as someone whose pup went through several bouts of giardia as a young dog.)
