I would suspect a bug bite, deer or horse fly. I've seen some pretty big bumps from them on my dogs. Always best to see the Vet to determine for sure, if they can. I hope you are both all right.
Idk I am def panicking as I am fighting cancer the last 3 yrs myself, I hope to God he doesn't have it, the bump appeared suddenly within a day, it looks like he walked into a wall..its a knot , hard to the touch, doesn't hurt him, he is eating fine etc. he just saw the vet last wed and got all his vaccinations, rabies, distemper, lepto, etc. and weighs 93 lbs, he got a good bill of health...Idk what this could be??? again he is my baby, he's 10 and a few months old, I have a puppy who's 1 yr old and she keeps him active he was 103 before we got her a yr ago....TIA

It seems unlikely that a cancerous lump would appear overnight. As Snowshoe says, my guess would be an insect bite or an injury of some sort. Maybe he and the pup were playing and a tooth caught him? A stick or a thorn from going under a bush? Look to see if there's any sort of a puncture wound. If you're worried and can't find an obvious source, I'd have my vet take a look at it also if it's not improving in a day or so. If it's an insect bite it might start to go down.

It is not the least reason why we should honor as well as love the dog of our own life, and the dog down the street, and all the dogs not yet born. UPDATE, Nobody seems to know or ever seen anything like this at my animal hospital I go to, but it hasn't grown or shrank its exactly the same she did a fine needle aspiration, and said when the needle went in it was Gritty... :/ , she didn't see any mast cells but she said this isn't her expertise so she sent it out she said there were quite a bit of active cells...so now I sit and wait... Having cancer myself it's so hard to wait for numbers to come back or scan results etc. Please everyone pray for my baby boy he is my heart and soul , Thank you!

UPDATE, Remingtons fine needle results came back and it's a soft tissue sarcoma, I am trying to make an appointment with an oncologist, I can't believe me and my baby boy have cancer at the same time, I won't let him suffer in any bad side effects from a treatment I know all to well what it's like but idk what it's like for a dog undergoing cancer treatments, anyone have or heard of this with their dogs?
I'm sorry to see this, how hard it must be for you. At least Remington doesn't know there's anything wrong so you're no doubt the one suffering the most at this news. One of our bullmastiffs had surgery and then oral chemo for recurrent mast cell tumors but that was 20 years ago. He didn't have any obvious side effects but this may not be at all what they will recommend for Remington. I hope you are able to see an oncologist soon to see what they recommend. Our thoughts are with you both.

Aw gee whiz, I'm sorry. No experience with treating dogs with cancer but I'm sure your Vet can advise on treatments and effects.
