While she still eats and is happy, it's great! I hope the herbs help with the anaemia, I remember I was giving iron supplements to Cookie.

Sending good thoughts for sweet Ursa.

So far, so good with Ursa. She's more active and has gained some weight. She's back to loving her shorter walks and park time, albeit slower for her age. Her appetite remains good and she's taking well to her additional supplements.
We're slowly adjusting her Keppra dosage to match her current weight and this helps her to not sleep so much, 2 vet specialists are involved with this adjustment because it's a time-sensitive process.
That's about it with Ursa. We're happy with her improvements!! Loua is doing well and loves to help us to help Ursa .

It's been a while since I've updated on Ursa, so here it is.

Ursa is doing very well in her old age and living with kidney disease.

We finally have her chronic ear infection under control and hopefully now gone after 20 days of treatments. Last vet visit 21 days ago, her vet did a culture on the yellow pus and it is/was the stubborn pseudomonas aeruginosa ear infection, so onto the correct bacterial and stronger dosage ear ointment.

Ursa still has a good appetite and wants her daily walks, so we're happy about that. She's fed 4 times per day to keep weight on her and she doesn't mind the attention and love. She's on 2 different Chinese herbs and homeopathies daily and is doing great on these. For a long time Ursa couldn't go up and down the stairs, but she's back to doing them again by herself, although, we're right there with her in case we need to grab her harness to help her.

We went camping and many people asked us "how old is she?" - because of all her graying, and they we amazed how well 14 year old Ursa walks and how happy she is. Her eyesight is about the same as last year, maybe even a little better when we drop a crumb of something and Ursa sees it before Loua does. Her hearing is conditional, lol, but a little less good than last year. All in all, Ursa is doing pretty good for an old girl and we enjoy every day we have with her!

It is not the least reason why we should honor as well as love the dog of our own life, and the dog down the street, and all the dogs not yet born. What would the world be like without music or rivers or the green and tender grass? What would this world be like without dogs?”
