    Update on Ursa...

Ursa saw the vet this afternoon for concerns of weight loss over the last 2 months (she's lost another 2kg/ almost 4 lbs - she's now at 55 lbs), a dull, thinning coat and a sore back with weakening 4 legs. We're not sure yet what's going on, but hopefully the blood tests will tell us more. There's been no changes in her diet/meals and supplements. Further test may be needed once Dr. Wanda knows more.

Ursa is showing her age through this, but is still alert and spunky. She still plays a little with the soccer balls and still enjoys her shorter walks. Ursa was never a chunky Lab, more on the slim side, but she now looks skinny and boney.

Please keep Ursa in your thoughts as we anxiously await the results. Thanks!

It is not the least reason why we should honor as well as love the dog of our own life, and the dog down the street, and all the dogs not yet born. What would the world be like without music or rivers or the green and tender grass? What would this world be like without dogs?”

Hi all. No results yet, we missed Dr. Wanda's call yesterday and she will phone on Monday. We're hoping it's nothing urgent, because she didn't leave a detailed message. Possible thoughts from our vet visit are something wrong with Ursa's thyroid, kidneys or digestive tract. Ursa is mostly acting like herself and is happy.

The results are in. Dr. Wanda phoned and it's not good news. Ursa is in the early stage 3 kidney failure. We continue with her raw/homemade diet and treats, but will be adding a Chinese Herb and a cocktail of homeopathies to help detox, stabilize and hopefully strengthen her kidneys.

We have to try to help Ursa with this. Ursa wanted to play ball this afternoon and play with Loua, so Ursa is still happy and spunky and we stay happy (to have her with us) with her.

Thanks for all your well wishes!
