Here in AZ we have the MOST species of rattlesnakes in the US of A. We have a minimum of 13 and some say up to a maximum of 16 breeds of Rattlers here. Plus the only venomous lizard in the USA. The other states, may not have as many breeds but that doesn’t necessarily mean they have less venomous snakes. Some I am not familiar with and not rattlesnakes but none the less venomous are the cotton mouth and copperhead snakes. No matter which ones or how many breeds of venomous snakes, the important thing is SNAKE AVOIDANCE. Here’s a video showing one of Rattlesnake Solution’s rattlesnake handler getting her dog trained. I would recommend looking up a reputable avoidance training agency near you for your furkid. Please do NOT try this for yourselves, death from a rattlesnake for humans is rare BUT you will definately wish you would after getting bit, it’s very painfull

Rattlesnakes are pretty much found in 46 of the lower states. I believe Alaska, Maine, Rhode Island and Hawaii are the only US states that do not have them
these are the only two I’ve seen in my yard, one is a horned [bottom]or sidewinder rattlesnake (crotalus cerastes) and the other is a mojave rattlesnake (crotalus scutulatus)
