    Our Weekend in Montreal

Last weekend we ventured down to Montreal for the weekend. We went to watch a hockey game. The Canadians vs The Washington Capitals (my team) hoping to see Ovechkin but sadly he was hurt a few week prior. Either way Montreal is very friendly, very fun and very cold this time of year. Glad I brought some long johns for the walk.

We had dinner at a little pub in Old Montreal. Walked to a Christmas fair or festival and had some piping hot Cider. Had Montreal Smoked Meat Poutine of course and enjoyed the hockey game. We sat in the first row of the club level which was food and sodas were included in the ticket. It was really nice. I ate too much.

    Thanks Everyone!!

Oh no! I erased my message!

I have only been to Montreal once. I took a walking food tour the first day I was there, which is a nice way to discover some local specialties. I think we had smoked meat 3 times in 5 days based on that tour. In fact, that place Dunn's looks familiar, we might have eaten lunch there one day! There's a Montreal style deli in NYC that I've been to once. My husband prefers traditional Jewish style delis, it's what he grew up eating. I think he just has forgotten how much he liked that smoked meat!

It's funny to me that your favorite hockey team is the one closest to where I live. I've never seen them or been to a hockey game.

“Because of the dog's joyfulness, our own is increased. It is no small gift. It is not the least reason why we should honor as well as love the dog of our own life, and the dog down the street, and all the dogs not yet born. What would the world be like without music or rivers or the green and tender grass? What would this world be like without dogs?”

A food tour would be pretty cool. We always go down for a hockey game when it's freezing cold but are thinking of doing a summer run. I was there a million years ago when the Jazz Festival was on and it was really fun.

I have never seen poutine with that much meat on it before. That looks awesome. I hear of a lot of variations but being in Michigan, we get a lot of poutine but no real variation other than the gravy flavor.
