Life is busy and has taken many turns! I occasionally check in here to read any new posts. Bubba is 10 now and Tug is 3, and we have our newest non puppy addition Augie who will be 1 next month. Tug took to him right away, Bubba was more "first Tug, now this?!" but that's his general demeanor anyway. It's hard watching him get older - nothing major, but lots of minor health problems here and there and we're starting him on arthritis shots now. Trying to cherish each day. Hope all is well with the remaining members! I think of all your dogs fondly.

Oh my gosh! How cute is Augie? In the second photo, Augie looks like he's got his face squinched up so he's ready for another lick from his brother. So cute! Thanks for checking in!

“Because of the dog's joyfulness, our own is increased. It is no small gift. It is not the least reason why we should honor as well as love the dog of our own life, and the dog down the street, and all the dogs not yet born. What would the world be like without music or rivers or the green and tender grass? What would this world be like without dogs?”

Hi and welcome back! What are the arthritis shots, is it Librela? Be careful with that, many people are reporting horrific side effects of that drug.

Thankfully I've never tried that drug but reading other people's stories on FB groups, I'd stay away from it.
Cookie was on NSAIDs (Previcox) long-term the last few years of his life and he did well on them, but if you decide to go that route make sure you do regular blood checkups.

Thank you that's helpful feedback! Everyone I know has seen amazing results with Librela since it came out, but that's such a selective sampling so I'm appreciative of hearing other experiences.
Did you just do NSAIDs? I wonder if we should just start with that + joint supplements and then decide about shots.

The kiss picture is perfection! Augie is darling.
In her later years, Macy was on Adequan. Idk if Librela was available at that time but I don't think it was. Adequan worked well for her with no known side effects. The Adequan helped her enough that I recall she started jumping back up on the couches and the stairs were much much easier. Big improvement for her.
