What's been going on with y'all!???

ME, we bought a house and are in the process of bringing it up to date. Bo is doing wonderful but I think he's getting tired of the back-n-forth between the two houses.

    Hi!

Still here. My Benji crossed over the bridge three years ago

I adopted a rescue Lab mix from Texas. He's doing great. Looking to find him a little brother

I don't come here as often, mainly because when I do there is nothing new going on here.

Sonic is doing great and we spend a lot of time walking and hiking the nearby mountains.

It's nice to hear from old members. I've been here since 2009. So sad this board doesn't get the traffic it used to.

Thanks for giving us the nudge! I check often but like others, don't see much action.

My current 2 doggos are half brothers. Henry will be 8 years old in July and is doing well. One might think he is slowing down because he's less active than Joey but that's because Joey can be pretty wild. Henry will jump into the back of my car unassisted, Joey prefers to get a leg up. Henry is still wondering why we thought he'd like a little brother for his 4th birthday. Joey will be 4 years old next month and while he acts crazy, he is much more biddable and prefers to be touching me at all times.

We've recently decided to do their main walk of the day separately. Henry is overjoyed by the individual attention. Joey is happy no matter what. Part of what decided this for us was that my husband got pulled down onto frozen ground while walking them and broke his hip. Fortunately, if there's anything fortunate about a broken hip, this happened in our front yard. He's back to walking the dogs and doing well but one 80 lb dog at a time is more manageable. They don't know it yet but beach season is just ahead.

I look forward to seeing more responses!

“Because of the dog's joyfulness, our own is increased. It is no small gift. It is not the least reason why we should honor as well as love the dog of our own life, and the dog down the street, and all the dogs not yet born. What would the world be like without music or rivers or the green and tender grass? What would this world be like without dogs?”

Ovie and I are still here. We are both greyer but still going. Life caught up to us as well but I still monitor the forum. It's renewed for another year. I have no plans to take it offline. I am going to retire this summer, maybe it will give me time to work on the board.
    Thanks Everyone!!

    Hi all .

Loua and I are still here. Nice to see some other members still around!

It's been a tough road for us thus far. Losing Ursa is still heart-breaking, especially for Loua, who went into a depression after Ursa died. We're keeping Loua busy with her daily walks and taking her to stores, so she can meet people and sometimes, other dogs. Loua finally made friends with our neighbor's little Poodle named Ginger, but Ginger is 12 yo and not playful anymore. Within 2 weeks of Ursa's passing, Loua turned gray on her chin and also slowly on her upper lip.

We knew then that Loua needs another doggie companion, so we started looking. It's as dry as the desert here, no real hopefuls for Loua and us, even with Lab rescues. Over the years many old-time Lab breeders have retired, and there's no girl doggie on either side of our province.

Last week we got a message that a Lab breeder close by is hoping her girl is pregnant and we're on her list. Puppies are due mid-June. When we know for sure, I'll post pics of the parents. We also put the word out for an older pup, so maybe something will come out of that. Loua needs a little sister!!

I hope everyone is doing well. Hugs to your Labs from Loua and me!

    Good! Thanks Kevin/Woody!

Enjoy your upcoming retirement!!! I retired last year May, but still work a little, but I'm officially an old fart, lol.
