Puppy Loua is headstrong, she's a cute and mostly sweet little puppy, and is a quick learner, except for when it comes biting Ursa. Loua gives Ursa cute head/neck hugs with her front paws but the hugs always land up in Loua biting Ursa's ears, neck (she hangs of her neck), jowls HARD and Ursa yelping in pain. We scold Loua with a "no biting Ursa", as Ursa is giving Loua a growl, but it's not enough to stop Loua from biting Ursa over and over everyday (at least 10 times). We've tried scolding Loua, putting her in a time-out (ya, for a 12 week old puppy), spraying Loua in the face with a water spray bottle while saying "no biting Ursa", clapping our hands and giving her a firm "NO biting", but it's just not clicking with Loua.
Ursa is a sweet, soft, gentle girl and her growls are not forceful enough, so we're encouraging Ursa to growl more instead of getting bit. Ursa gives us the look like "what did I do wrong". Ursa has some puncture wounds in her neck and this Loua biting her has to stop, NOW!
Anyone have any ideas for us?
Thanks!
